The succesful season closing concert of the Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau awarded Martina Filjak with another excellent review.
'The Croatian, Martina Filjak, as a specialist of impressionist repertoire, was an ideal soloist: she leaves no technical doubts, with a fondness of colours and always in closest contact with the orchestra'.
On April 13th, 14th and 15th the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock together with their conductor Florian Krumpöck welcomed Martina Filjak for 3 performances of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major.
A quote from the press:
'We were enthralled by an extraordinary beautiful rendition of Ravel's Piano concerto by Martina Filjak. This young pianist employed a rarely refined touch in order deliver the full fantasy of the partition in a scintillating, brilliant sound....a truely extraordinary pianist!'.
April 9th brought a chamber music performance in Detmold's Konzerthaus with violinist Kolja Blacher and horn player Radovan Vlatkovic. The programme included Hindemith's both Violin and Horn Sonata, Brahms' Paganini Variations for Piano Solo as well as his Horn Trio.
The published review quotes:
'Martina Filjak as a musical partner possesses a playing of rare beauty. Her approach unifies freedom, respect and humbleness. She carries her partner without having to push herself into the limelight, because she gives the music exactly what it needs. This became more than clear in the aesthetic utopia of incredible lightness in Brahms' Paganini Variations'.
On March 12th and 13th, Martina held recitals at Verona's Teatro Ristori and Milan's Sala Verdi.
The reviewer wrote:
'We have witnessed a splendid interpretation of Prokofieff's 4th Sonata, including a magnificent performance of 'Andante assai', where she demonstrated an extraordinary independence on the fingers delivering a sound control that makes Prokofiev's polyphonic structure perfectly audible in each single line'.
